No other company can do what we do! Most companies just book your trips - we actually lead them with our on-staff river salmon and trout guides, bear flyout guides, halibut captains, experienced pilots and more. Kenai Sportfishing is the only outfit on the Kenai Peninsula that owns and operates all four adventures—Kenai River, Kasilof River, Bear Flyouts, and Homer Halibut fishing . From the river to the sky to the sea, you’re always with our team.

Experience world-class angling on the legendary Kenai River. Chase massive King Salmon, The largest sockeye salmon in the world, aggressive fall Silvers, and trophy Rainbow Trout in Alaska’s most iconic turquoise waters.

Discover the drift-only charm of the Kasilof River. Hook into powerful King Salmon, incredible sockeye salmon,late-season Silvers, and Trout & Steelhead, while drifting through Alaska’s serene, scenic, and glacial waters.

Experience the ultimate Alaska adventure: bear viewing and fishing. Watch incredible brown bears and their cubs learn to fish just feet from your boat in the wild while you cast for salmon in the world’s most pristine river ecosystems.

Join Homer Halibut Hunters for a local saltwater chase on the Homer Spit. We run four boats daily for giant halibut, bringing the same personal touch and the same local team you have come to trust at Kenai Sportfishing.
Any of our trips for the day can be booked immediately online. If you’d like one of our multi-day packages please fill out our inquiry form. We do this so that we can put you on the best trip for the day based on the calendar days you are interested in.

The early season in Alaska—running from May 15th through June 10th—is an amazing way to watch Alaska wake up from a cold dark winter. As the midnight sun begins to stretch across the horizon, the peninsula wakes up with vibrant energy. You’ll experience warm, long days, breathtaking mountain clarity, and the very first arrivals of the legendary King Salmon.
Here is a look at the premier adventures we operate during this spectacular window:
Kasilof River King Salmon Fishing: While the Kenai River typically remains closed to protect early runs, the Kasilof River offers a world-class alternative for King Salmon in a drift boat only fishery.
Chinitna Bay Bear Viewing & Flightseeing:Â A world-class flight past active volcanoes and glaciers to a remote beach landing. Witness bears, wolves, and moose in their natural habitat. The first 30 minutes alone is worth the price of admission!
Homer Halibut Fishing: Head to the “Halibut Capital of the World” for a day on the salt. The early season offers excellent “tasty” halibut fishing in the Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet. Many guests interested in fishing will book 2 days of halibut fishing at this time of the year because it is the best fishing available in our area during the early season. Combo Halibut/Rockfish, Halibut-Salmon, & multi-species Halibut/Rockfish/Salmon options available

The mid season in Alaska—running from June 11 to July 11 — marks the arrival of our opportunities to catch sockeye salmon on our rivers as well as move our bear flyouts from the beaches to remote lakes where bears are looking to target the sockeye just like us humans! The Russian River and Kasilof River is teeming with Sockeye and limits of sockeye are the norm.Â
You’ll experience warm, long days, where the sun barely sets, and sockeye salmon starting to swarm the rivers. As we get closer to July 11, we may consider moving sockeye trips from the Kasilof River to the Kenai River. It just all depends on how the fishing is. We put you on which ever river is best fishing.
Here is a look at the premier adventures we operate during this spectacular window:
Kasilof River Sockeye Salmon Fishing
Kenai River Sockeye Salmon Fishing
Big River Lakes Bear Flyout & Fishing
Homer Halibut Fishing: Combo Halibut/Rockfish, Halibut-Salmon, & Multispecies Halibut/Rockfish/Salmon options available

The peak of the peak of the peak(!) season in Alaska—running from July 12th through August 10th— is an insane time to be fishing in Alaska. Most Notably, starting around July 15th, the Kenai River is so full of salmon we only recommend 3/4-day fishing trips because we’ll probably have your limits of 6 sockeye per person well within that time frame.
Also, starting mid-July we can add Crescent Lake in Lake Clark National Park to our bear flyouts. One of the most beautiful places anywhere to see bears and do a little fishing!
Here is a look at the premier adventures we operate during this spectacular window:
Kenai River Sockeye Salmon Fishing: Recommend 3/4-Day trips
Kasilof River Sockeye Salmon Fishing: Still have to do a full-day trip on the Kasilof to the drift boat only nature of the trip
Big River Lakes:Â Still loaded with bears and a bit cheaper than Crescent Lake
Crescent Lake:Â An amazingly beautiful flight and location and chock full of bears
Homer Halibut Fishing:Â Combo Halibut/Rockfish, Halibut-Salmon, & Multispecies Halibut/Rockfish/Salmon options available

The fall season in Alaska—running from August 11 to September 30 — is a stunning picture of all colors throughout the peninsula. The sockeye run is ending and the silver salmon run is starting. And that elusive 30″ rainbow trout is within reach. There are two runs of silver salmon on the Kenai River. The early run peaks in mid-August and the late run peaks in mid-Sept.Â
The weather does get cooler, and rainier. We also have more days, particularly in September when weather will require us to downgrade or cancel our Halibut trips. When this happens we’ll do our best to reschedule you.Â
Here is a look at the premier adventures we operate during this spectacular window:
Kenai River Sockeye & Silver Salmon Fishing: Back to full day trips for silvers or salmon-trout combos.
Kasilof River Sockeye, Silver and Steelhead Fishing
Homer Halibut Fishing: Combo Halibut/Rockfish, Halibut-Salmon, & Multispecies Halibut/Rockfish/Salmon options available
